Australian Football League 2012 (AFL):

Brisbane Lions VS Geelong Cats

Reminder: In Australia, Football is NOT equal to Soccer!

Origin of AFL:
Orinated in 1858, in Victoria, Adelaide and Tasmania.

Rules for AFL:
Numbers of players: no more than 18 each team; Up to 4 interchange platyers -- at any time during the game.

Unlike the traditional soccar game,
players can play all across the field = no set position

Time for the match:
80 minutes (4 quarters) + time on

Object of the game:

Score points by kicking the ball between sets of four posts

Middle two = Goal posts; Outside ones = Behind posts

6 points = a Goal are scored when the ball is kicked between the two middle post without being touched by any player

1 point = a Behind is scored when the ball passes between a goal post and a behind post

Players can use both their hands and foot to pass the ball

After knowing the rules of AFL, let's have a look on how the Ambassadors go on 28/04/2012, a cold and windy night with Brisbane Lions VS Geelong Cats!!

Before the match, we (Hussain, Claire and I) went to Myer Center Foodcourt to haave our dinner.

Anyway, we had a great time with the lions and cats this evening. Though it's raining heavily out there, our hearts are filled with warmth and we are blessed to have this opportunity:D Wish everyone was there :) Doesn't matter, coz we are here to share the joy to YOU ALL :DD

This is the first activity for me as a Brisbane International Student Ambassador. I was honored and blessed to have this precious opportunity to explore and serve this city:) Hope everyone of us will have a great experience throughout this year and achieve at least some of our goals in our lives!
